In other words, he left the child on a tree stump and hoped a wolf would do the deed for him. Coward. Apparently nature did not do the job if Altdorf sent you. As for further clues, the child’s father is named Pytr Ivanovich from Tesov, a village outside Praag. Seeing as how your Ms. Hansa Gruber hasn’t arrived yet, I’d say you’re best heading off alone, might meet her in Praag and save her a trip up north.
