The seal is like a metal lock and can only be opened by the Key of Chamon, a spell beyond your learning. The archmage who sealed this was learned, though I suppose he alone could not hold back the tide. Fortunately I know the Key of Chamon, so let us see what words he guarded so safely... Hmm, this is dire information indeed. The Dragon Gate is under siege, that much we knew, but within its halls is a powerful artefact bearing the Wind of Chamon this archmage was safeguarding. The most powerful weapons of the Asur were forged in dragon's breath, thus Chamon is strongly associated with these beasts. You must break this siege and allow time for the Shining Guard to reinforce the Dragon Gate.

Travel south to the edges of the Shadowlands and complete the Dragon Gate public quest. Return to Thaewyn Fairwind at Skyblade's Hold when done.
