Every time I think I am closer to understanding these strange signs, I am thrown back into confusion. This was not a language shaped by the guidance of the Old Ones. It is clear that this language is closer to the Dark Tongue. Nevertheless, knowing the thoughts of our enemies will help us counter their plans. I must beg of you for one more inscription, this time from the arch you passed coming here from Barak Varr. There was an interessting set of runes there which seems to appear occasionally on the rubbings from the pillars. Something about the dead rising and serving the dark father. Perhaps we'd do well to subdue some of the dead who have already risen...

Travel north into Sinkwater Fen and use the Charcoal and Parchment in your quest bag at the Mourkain Arch on the road. Clear Sinkwater Fen of some of the undead who have risen, no doubt drawn by the dark magic of the Mourkain Ruins, and help secure the road to Barak Varr. Return to Vandra Sweetrune in Reekmarsh Camp when done.
