There appears to have been a scuffle around the cockpit of the gyrocopter. As you look closely at the ground it becomes clear that the pilot was not killed in the crash, but was dragged northwest toward the road. The footprints seem to indicate that he was taken by a band of Orcs. Rolun mentioned a guard named Dorin Vowkeeper who watches the road to the north. Dorin will probably be interested in the parts you're carrying. More importantly, he might have seen where the pilot was taken.
Look for the bridge on the main road through Deadwater Quag. Find Dorin Vowkeeper and inquire about the pilot.
