With your hide scraped clean it is time for you to wash it of all the dirt and grime that it has collected both in your travels and in your cleaning process. There is a source of water not far from the camp.
Take the skin down to the lake to clean it. Right click it in your quest inventory while standing on the bank of the lake. Return to the Chracian Hunter when the skin is cleaned.
