Bark Bigger Than the Bite
The lichen never was meant to completely absorb all the moisture from the bark, only to wick the excess. There is still moisture trapped within this bark, but that is not a problem if we know how to deal with it. Rosin is used to treat wood and prevent it from growing brittle. It both traps the remaining moisture within, and prevents other life from attacking the wood from witout. I do not have any rosin on hand, but the acrons that fall from the forest canopy can be heated to extract rosin. Bring me some. The local cockatrice population is known to eat them when meat is scarce.
Kill the local Stonewood Cockatrices and cut them open to find any Silverglen Acorns they may have consumed. Gather 10 and return with them to the Avelornian Treesinger.
