With your pelt scraped clean it is time for you to wash it of all the dirt and grime that it has collected both in your travels and in your cleaning process. Down by the bridge there is access to the river, you can clean it there.
Take the pelt down to the river to clean it. Right click it in your quest inventory while standing on the bank of the river near the bridge. Return to the Beast Hunter when the pelt is cleaned.
