Fungal Warfare

You peer at the small thornberry busy at the water's edge. This species is not native to these lands. In fact, if your memory serves, this is a plant native to the isle of the High Elves. It must be a relic from their bygone era in these lands, much like the waystone behind you. It seems elven magic is at play, given that some fungus clings to the bush's branches but has not killed the bush. You wonder what such a a fungus that has fed off of elven plants could do to an orc... Only one way to find out.

Take the strange mushroom with you and find a powerful savage orc in the vicinity, perhaps on Bloodspike Mesa. Use the Strange Mushroom in your quest inventory while targeting the savage orc brute and then attempt to kill it to see how the fungus interacts with the savage orc's wounds. Report your findings to someone who might be interested in this knowledge nearby.
