Heavy are my thoughts of late, |n. The dawi pride themselves as masters of ore and shapers of metal, for what substance is as resolute as gromril, holds as keen an edge as steel, or as reliable as iron? It is true that we dawi view wood as a fuel source, and a poor one at that - only fit for a weak fire to warm a rabbit stew. There is one tree however that we hold dear, wutroth, or ironbark as it’s known to manlings. With the sturdiness of iron and the flexibility of a willow, wutroth is the most precious wood in the old world. Unfortunately since the Time of Woes it has also become extremely rare. The last grove near Karaz-a-Karak protected by the rangers is showing signs of rootrot. Dark powers at work no doubt. Perhaps the rangers can tell us if they’ve seen any promising saplings recently?

Speak with Master Ranger Elgrin Deadeye in Bugman’s Brewery and seek his advice on any possible locations for wutroth saplings.
