My earliest memories were of my mother coming back to some dark cave we’d been livin’ in, her axe dripping with fresh blood. I quickly learned dark thick blood was from ‘bad things’ and light blood was from ‘good things’ - creatures we killed to eat. We moved at night, often when the moons gave but the faintest light. She didn’t fear darkness or that which lurks in the night. Anything that jumped out to kill us soon met its end. She said we moved when it was dark because it was safer. As I grew older I began to think it was easier for her to be around me in darkness, when she couldn’t see me. My mother wouldn’t let me die, but when she looked at me she saw shame. I believe leavin’ me with the two rangers was a way out for her.
Ulrek breaks off again and asks you to return to the marshes and slay another enemy, this time some minions of Khorne perched atop a bloody battlefield.
