Nubungki
Harwin and Guntrek did their best to teach me what they knew, while fulfilling their duties as rangers and recording information in their journal, and trying to maintain some semblance of life in the swamps. My mother taught me to live in the shadows and not to fear night, Harwin and Guntrek taught me how it was to live in the light. After Harwin died a few years later of swamp fever Guntrek was torn between an oath to my mother, his duty as a ranger, and his longing to go home. He no longer believed my mother would return, but he said he couldn’t bring me back with him. He mulled the idea of me takin’ the slayer oath like my mother had but even this seemed impossible to him. I was a child of shame, a nubungki. Unfit to be alive, yet alone a slayer of Karak Kadrin.
Ulrek’s voice breaks, long has he held this tale within him, long has he been alone. He asks for one last favor. Somewhat predictably his last target is a gathering of Nurgle cultists in a dark part of the marshes that lie in the shadow of a mighty grim tower, a monument to death itself. Slay the cultists and return to Ulrek.
