The Citadel cannot fall, it must be able to withstand a lengthy siege if it comes to it. The miner’s have orders to seal the southern tunnel should the situation grow dire. We ironbreakers can fight on sealed inside, so long as the rest of the Hold is protected and has time to mount an offensive. We don’t think of it as grim, it is our duty.
In the event of an overwhelming incursion into the mine junction and the loss of the stairs leading to the Middle Deeps Forge Hall, the Failsafe Wardens are ordered to collapse the tunnel between the two chambers. Check the readiness of the fail-safe defenses.
